The best just keep getting better, and though I do really like the multi-modality of ChatGPT with Dalle3, Claude just keeps setting the standard for pure textual content generation with their new version 3 models. The link below highlights Anthropic's published metrics on the performance of their new model versions, and as expected they are damn impressive. Of note, Claude is the competitive tool of choice for AWS in the ongoing market battle with Microsoft and their offerings from OpenAI. If I had to choose just one, at this point I might go with Claude, just for the amount of textual based usage I do. Also might be an interesting safety play given the uncertain implications and outcomes of the current lawsuit that Elon Musk filed against OpenAI.

Aside from the public metrics provided in the press release, I have a series of complex workflows I use for multiple business use cases, and across the board they show marked improvement. The real impact for me with this release is to highlight the importance and utility of making your GenAI workflows model agnostic, and therefore being able to "upgrade" the outputs with any new model release for any vendor. The ability to "lift and shift" for an immediate improvement in performance (speed of output) and value (quality of the output) is indispensable.

If you haven't yet taken the opportunity, I highly recommend trying out the new Claude 3 models. Also a great time to consider AWS for your future GenAI needs, as this release by Anthropic goes to fully validate the multi-BILLION dollar investment that Amazon made into their partnership. The GenAI wars are heating up, and the biggest players in the space are both evenly matched, and both demonstrating their determined pace of competitiveness. This benefits all of us as the consumers, in that it all means lower prices and better quality over time are the continued future for the market.
