The Defense Innovation version of this amazingly insightful “not to do” list…

Just like the great points offered from the YC Partners, here’s five simple things to also not do (or stop doing) in Defense Innovation for new businesses. In no particular offensive order:

1. SBIRs for typical SaaS software
2. Pushing usage-based payments
3. Making the military be the integrator
4. Thinking any approval can move fast
5. Thinking anything has just one approval

I have tons more to extend this list further, but it’s always more fun and interesting to hear everyone’s suggestions as well. Lord knows there are more scars than successes in Defense Innovation. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, that only the patient and prepared complete.
